Here is my simple tomato sauce recipe, works perfectly with pasta dishes or when thickened can be used as a pizza sauce.

Ingredients
3
tomatoes
1
capsicum/bell-pepper
1
green chilli
1
small onion
1
carrot, grated
1 tbsp
oil
1/4 tsp
garlic paste
1 tbsp
tomato paste/puree
salt to taste
1 tsp
sugar
a pinch of
tandoori masala/cumin powder/oregano
Instructions

Blend the tomatoes, capsicum, chilli, onion and carrot with a bit of water until smooth. Heat a the oil in a pan, then add the garlic paste, followed by the tomato paste.

Once that's cooked for a couple of minutes, add the blended mixture and simmer. Add salt and sugar followed by a bit of tandoori masala or cumin powder or oregano or you can just leave it plain and unspiced according to your taste.

Let it simmer until thick and all the water is gone. Taste and adjust if needed. Then use accordingly!

W/Salaam, the sauce keeps well for about 4 days in the fridge but up to a month if frozen.

AOA fouzia !
i would like to ask one thing ... after adding the garlic paste into the pan we directly add the blender mixture or something else first added into it.

Can i make tomato paste by blending a peeled tomato?

admin_2's picture

Blend and then cook it down until it is very thick and concentrated. Then that will be tomato paste.

to make pizza sauce we r alrady blend and cookng tomatos with other ingrediants so do we need to
make n add tomato pure with that same process??

admin_2's picture

Tomato puree/paste is different and more concentrated than just blending tomatoes. It helps thicken and enrich the mixture.

Actually we get several size of carrot...plz can u tell me in ur recipe wht size of carrot shud I use. .. thnk u...
