Another variation on the pizza dough recipe. This makes about 10-12 pinwheels, depending on the size you slice them.
Here is the filling that I used (although you can use whichever filling you like).
And this is my standard dough recipe:
INGREDIENTS
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
3 tbsp. oil
1 tsp. instant yeast
pinch of baking powder
warm milk for kneading (approx. 1/2 to 3/4 cup)
INSTRUCTIONS
Mix all the dry ingredients and the oil, then slowly start adding the warm milk a little at a time. Get it to a soft dough, the softer the better, knead it very well for at least 8 minutes or more if possible.
Dab a touch of oil all over the dough, then cover it and place it somewhere warm. Leave it to rise to double its size, takes about 30 minutes to an hour depending on the weather.
Once risen, punch it down, give it a quick knead and then roll it out into a rectangular shape of about quarter inch thickness. Spread your filling leaving a border of about 1 inch all around. Sprinkle a bit of cheese (mozzarella preferably) on the filling, then from one end, roll the pizza dough like you would a swiss roll, enclosing the filling inside. Now slice using a knife, tucking and adjusting any area that seems like it's spilling out. Keep the slices at less than 2 inches, remember they will bulk up a little bit after baking.
Place the pinwheels on a greased tray and let them sit for about half an hour. Then preheat the oven at 180C, bake for about 10 minutes. Take the tray out and sprinkle extra cheese to top each pinwheel. Bake until the cheese melts and is golden. Serve hot! :)

Can You Please Show the step by step pictures for this?
For now I don't have the step by step pics for this, but you can use this link which will give you a clear idea on how to shape the pinwheels.

The filling mixture is given right at the top of the recipe. Please check.
W/Salaam. Please refer to this note for my measurement conversions: My Measurements
Salams... How much in grams is 1-1/2 cups flour??
can i use nutella instead of a savoury filling?
You can but the problem is the chocolate may melt and leak out and burn because it is not fully enclosed in the dough, so I would not recommend it for this recipe.
thanks for your reply,
but the problem is when i bake it right away after I prepare the dough, it comes out perfect... its only after i freeze it that I get these problems :(
but I will try changing the yeast as well, thx :D
asalam,
I tried this recipe, n it was amazingly good .. but I freezed some extra ones, however when i Baked it after it didnt turn out so nicely, it seemed that it didnt bake properly, the dough part looked a bit transparent seemed like it wasnt cooked well enough and didnt raise much. can you suggest somthing plz..
thank a lot
W/salaam, sounds like there was a problem with the yeast you used, try testing the yeast to see if it works well or use a different brand. :)
The same question again Fouzia, how long do I bake them on stove top? And how will I do the grilling part?fg
On stove top they will take the same time as they would in an oven, remember to preheat the pot before putting them in. As for the grilling part, that will be tricky because on the stove top there is no top heat to help get a good colour.
Assalam alekum fouzia.frist of let me thank u for amazing recipes.JAZAKALLAH KHARIUN!!!.I have tried and baked Chicken rolls, buns and few other dishes and they were perfectly done.i need ur help to know how to make Pizza Base and how to freeze them.Waiting for ur reply.thank you.
W/Salaam, make the pizza base using any of my pizza recipes, roll it out and then bake it partially for just around 8 minutes. Then let it cool and freeze wrapped well until needed.
