A coastal (E/African) favourite, this snack is sold on just about every corner of the island of Mombasa. Ideal as a snack or starter, a very unique way of making potatoes!!
INGREDIENTS & INSTRUCTIONS
Boil potatoes, peel and quarter them.
Slit each piece in the centre slightly and dab some chilli/salt/lemon paste (2 tsp. chili powder, 1 tsp. salt and some lemon juice to make a paste so the chilli paste is sandwiched in the middle of each piece of potato.
Dip in a medium thick gram flour n water mixture that's been seasoned with salt and a touch of garlic paste. Dip the potatoes in this and fry. Drain and enjoy with chutneys of your choice..
