Hands down my favourite pasta at the moment!! It is really easy to prepare and tastes DIVINE!! ♥

PS: ONE CAN SUBSTITUTE THE SHRIMP WITH FINELY JULIENNED CHICKEN FILLET

INGREDIENTS

1 tsp. garlic paste
2 lemons, zest and juice
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 pound medium shrimp (approx. 30), peeled, deveined and butterflied

Marinate the above for about half an hour.

ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS

Some oil
1 onion chopped finely
1 pound thin linguini
2 tablespoons butter
1 tbsp. flour
1 cup milk
2 tbsp. sour cream (optional)
1 bunch coriander leaves chopped
2 green chilies chopped (if you can't take too much spice, omit this)
1 tsp. garam masala
salt n pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat a pan/skillet and add a bit of oil, then fry the shrimp for about 3 minutes on each side, remove n set aside.

In the meantime, boil your pasta and drain.

In the pan you used for frying the shrimp, add the butter and when melted, fry your chopped onions until soft. Add the flour n cook for a couple of minutes then add a bit of salt n pepper, garam masala n the milk. When it thickens slightly, add the coriander n chopped chili, followed by the shrimp. Cook together for a few minutes, add milk if you like a lighter cream (remember that the cream will thicken slightly as it cools so adjust according to your preference). Adjust salt n pepper according to taste

You can now either mix the pasta into the creamy shrimp and serve immediately or you can serve the pasta with the shrimp on the side. Best served immediately! Enjoy!!

W/Salaam, thanks! It's a type of pasta, like spaghetti but flatter. You can use regular spaghetti instead.

Salam.... Sounds like fun.... Wats "linguini" thou pls?

Assalamoualaikoum Fauzia Behen,
Can you please tell me what lemon size did you use?

W/Salaam, medium size, each one has about 2 tbsp of juice.

I tried this recipe and it was delicious :) However, I found that it needed two cups of milk or else the sauce was too gloopy. Two cups was just enough to make a sauce with a good consistency.

Hi if you don't want to put butter is that ok ??

Butter is a crucial ingredient for this recipe as it enhances the flavour. You can use oil in it's place if you want.

Hey , but you didn't say what to do with the garlic paste and lemon juice. Do i have to marinate the shrimp with it ?

Fauzia's Kitchen Fun's picture

Yes I did, please read through the recipe again. They are used in the marination.

Sorry it was in small character, I missed it .. Sorry and thanks again :)
